BUSINESS J. Andrews requested the 6" Dob, so C. Nason will get it from R. Walker and contact her. M. Powell took the solar scope; D. Driscoll returned the 4.5" Dob and T. Laderoute borrowed it; Co. Brown retains the 90 mm refractor; M. West returned the Ioptron cell phone scope adapter and DVD 4. M. Giberson returned DVD 5. As a follow-up for club purchases, C. Curwin bought two cell phone adapters and P. Owen bought camera adapters. C. Nason will buy Baader film from Kendrick's after the Mercury Transit for a solar filter workshop later. Volunteers were requested for public observing at the INP, Bayside School, Meenan's Cove and the Bark Park over Astronomy Week
 
WHAT'S UP C. Nason covered what to look for over the next month and included some extra information on the May 9 transit of Mercury
 
OBSERVING REPORTS M. West tried out the cell phone adapter to capture colours of stars. M. Powell was observing Jupiter and saw a bright satellite moving south to north that he could not identify. J. MacDonald saw a beautiful solar halo. T. Raithby showed aurora videos he had captured. C. Nason has been observing Jupiter and Mars.
 
SHOW & TELL, BUY & SELL M. Powell bought an IR modified camera from P. Owen. S. Jackson has donated a SJAC jacket and the book Daily Planet. L. Larkin has donated the books Atlas of the Moon, Colours of Galaxies, Deep Sky Field Guide and The Wil Tirion Sky Atlas to the club library, and several astronomy magazines to give away. H. Marks donated several Scientific American magazines to give away. Thank you Sally, Len and Harold!
