| OBSERVING |
E. Bauman saw Jupiter's bands in his 3" scope. A. West observed sunspots with the PST. M. West got Venus and Jupiter in the same telescopic field of view. C. Nason serendipitously caught a Jovian mutual moon occultation. C. Curwin observed Comet Lovejoy and had his 1000th visitor look through his scope.

C. Nason gave a talk on measuring the distance to stars and galaxies and explained the stellar coordinate system of right ascension and declination, including how things change due to precession of the equinox.
