BUSINESS A. West retains the PST. B. MacNutt retains the 4.5" Dob and Backyard Observer's Guide. Je. MacDonald took the 90 mm refractor. P. Owen has the H-Beta filter. T. Siddall has the 6" Dob and NightWatch. W. Lee has the Backyard Astronomer's Guide, and P. Webb has the Moon Observer's Guide.
 
WHAT'S UP C. Nason covered what to observe over the next month.
 
OBSERVING E. Bauman saw Jupiter's bands in his 3" scope. A. West observed sunspots with the PST. M. West got Venus and Jupiter in the same telescopic field of view. C. Nason serendipitously caught a Jovian mutual moon occultation. C. Curwin observed Comet Lovejoy and had his 1000th visitor look through his scope.
 
ASTRONOMY TALK June MacDonald gave a talk on the New Horizons spacecraft about to visit Pluto.
 
SHOW & TELL, BUY & SELL C. Curwin brought a new tripod bag. T. Raithby showed some great aurora photos.
 
ASTRONOMY TALK C. Nason gave a talk on measuring the distance to stars and galaxies and explained the stellar coordinate system of right ascension and declination, including how things change due to precession of the equinox.
