BUSINESS D. Chase takes the PST. T. Matthews has the club scope, J. Davidson will take the club scope for August. E. O'Reilly informed us of an IAU initiative to allow astronomy groups to vote on proper names for exoplanets. Ed will report more on this in August and perhaps form a committee to register our club and participate.
 
WHAT'S UP C. Nason covered what to observe over the next month.
 
OBSERVING REPORTS B. Hitchcock saw a fireball around 01:30 June 28. E. O'Reilly also saw it. C. Nason had a steady view of Saturn in twilight earlier that evening. J. Davidson observed Saturn and the Moon with his114 mm reflector from Kijiji. A. Bordage told us of his homemade spectroscope.
 
ASTRONOMY TALK My Top 20 Exciting Things in the Universe (C. Curwin) - Chris described the objects and ideas that he finds most fascinating in astronomy, from hypervelocity stars to our bodies being composed of recycled star material.

ASTRONOMY TALK C. Nason gave a presentation on the main summer constellations and the popular deep sky objects to be found.
