ASTRONOMY TALK |
The Voyager Missions (J. MacDonald): Voyager 2 was launched first in 1977 but Voyager 1 was faster and arrived at Jupiter first. They then went to Saturn, and V2 was also sent to Uranus and Neptune while V1 made a beeline for the edge of the solar system (heliopause), which it reached last year. June covered how the signals are received from the Vs and the gold-plated copper records on both.
