BUSINESS We made plans for Astronomy Day and who would be at which location. Steve T. retains the club scope. Curt N. took the solar scope. Cassie T. returned the book "Postcards from the Edge of the Universe." Dave B. borrowed disc 3. Gillian L. borrowed the book of Hubble images.

WHAT'S UP Curt covered the things to watch for in the sky over the month.

OBSERVING Doug M. took a photo of a sunspot (posted on Facebook). Curt has been sketching sunspots and had an evening of backyard galaxy observing.

Astronomy Talk: What happened before the Big Bang: Universes, Black Holes, White Hole, Wormholes George J. gave a primer on Newtonian and relativistic gravitational theory, then covered the universe theories (static, expanding and accelerating). From there he described the Big Bang, black holes, white holes and worm holes.

SHOW AND TELL Doug M.made a full aperture solar filter from a bucket lid. Marc A. and Angela D. had visited the Montreal Planetarium and la Maison d'Astronomie, bringing back a glass solar filter, Telrad, calendar, Big Dipper shirt, posters and various doodads. Steve T. unveiled the refurbished club scope - a great improvement, and as pretty to look at as through. Thanks, Steve!

DVD We watched a DVD from the club collection on the wave-particle duality of light.
