WHAT'S UP |
Curt highlighted what to look for in the sky and the events coming up for the summer. A highlight is the longest solar eclipse of the century but we won't see it (except Jacky).

OBSERVING |
Chris M. had been observing the Moon; Peter J. saw some nice prominences on the Sun with his PST; Dave M. got M97 from his backyard and took pics of Titan; Dave B. observed M51, the Sunflower Galaxy, and M3; Curt did public observing at the Sussex Superstore and Gagetown Guide camp.

CONSTELLATION TALKE |
Peter talked on Ursa Major, including the stories of Callisto / Arcas and the Mic Mac legend of the hunters. He showed many caricatures of the bear.

SHOW AND TELL |
Dave M. displayed pictures of the Moon; Peter had an IYA stamp poster; Myrtle showed her Astronomy and Sky News magazines; Curt had "The Living Cosmos" on sale at Coles; Adrien had an SLR focusser; Mike P. brought a beautiful William Optics refractor; Jacky showed his Sky Scout.

MONT MEGANTIC |
Dave B. gave a presentation on the Mont Megantic Observatory in Quebec, which he visited. It started in 1979, has a 1.6 m scope, and is in a Dark Sky Preserve.

Club scope: no takers (held by Curt); PST went to June; 1 copy of NightWatch (K.
