WHAT'S UP Curt covered the things to watch for in the sky over the month.
 
OBSERVING Adrien and Curt had scopes out for Trick or Treaters; Dave D. teurned a couple of cocky kids into observers; Peter and Curt did a session for St. Macs students at New River; Mike was visited by SJ's finest while taking pictures of Orion.
 
ASTRONOMY TALK Globular Clusters (by Mike) - elongated orbits around the Milky Way, first one detected was M22 in 1665, M4 is closest, some contain intermediate mass black holes. Mike showed a video of the Hubble discovery of a black hole in Omega Centauri.
 
SHOW AND TELL Adrien displayed his Dob tracker; Dave D. is adapting the bino microscope teaching module for telescopes; Steve had the National Geographic special edition Space magazine.
 
CONSTELLATION TALK Camelopardalis - Curt went through the several fine galaxies here and Kembles Cascade.
 
BUSINESS Club Scope - Curt, PST (Nathaniel). The Cosmic Perspective (Ed K.). Destiny in Space DVD (Roy H.), Backyard Astronomer's Guide (not Dave D.); Mars book (Shawn); Christmas dinner plans; June gave a summary of negotiations with the museum and library ffor IYA 2009
