WHAT'S UP |
Curt covered the things to watch for in the sky over the month.

OBSERVING |
Mike was out observing globular clusters and saw a bright Iridium flare. Curt, Beth and George,
saw a spectacular halo around the Sun. Curt and Adrien did an observing session for about 3 dozen
students at RNS. Ed O and Curt observed Comet Boattini. Terry saw a bright meteor breaking up.

FAMOUS OBSERVATORIES |
Peter gave a presentation on the Jodrell Bank Observatory in England, which was
completed in 1957. Mainly radio, they also do X-ray, optical, infrared and millimetre
wave, and is part of the Very Large Array network. Peter also gave a description of
radio astronomy, then showeda viseo ofthe observatory from Sky at Night.

Beth gave an update on the Solar System model. She talked with Bernard
Cormier about Harbour Passage being the location. He did not recommend
it and provided contacts for other areas.

Peter had 2 books; The Brightest Stars, Illustrated Astronomical Wonders, and a Sky Scout.
