WHAT'S UP Curt covered the things to watch for in the sky over the month.
 
OBSERVING Ed. K. observed M3 and objects around UrsaMajor; Allan observed Alcor/Mizar; Beth worked on her Explore the Universe certificate; Curt had a few good nights with Saturn and Mars, sketched sunspots; Shawn and Curt did a Cub night in Rothesay; Kathy witnessed a shuttlelaunch in Florida.
 
Solar System Coordinates, Part 2 Shawn recapped using the Heavens-Above chart to locate planets in the zodiac and explained rotation and revolution using the chart plus a globe and light.He also covered sunrise, sunset, the seasons and consequently the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.
 
SHOW AND TELL Peter had 3 books (50 Best Sights, Star Maps, Observing the Moon) ans a Baader 13 mm Hyperion eyepiece, Curt had an astronomy book from 1831.
 
BUSINESS Club Scope (Ed K. has it for April), PST (Peter). The Cosmic Perspective (Ed O). Backyard Astronomer's Guide (Trevor J.); Peter donated IMAX DVD Destiny in Space (Sonia T. has it), NightWatch (Haylie).
Astronomy Day on May 10 at Brunswick Square. Curt has pamphlets from Astronomy magazine, the LPA box from Ted Dunphy.
 
ASTRONOMY PICS June showed a continued selection of favourite astronomy pictures.
