WHAT'S UP Curt covered 3 comets, Mercury in good position, Venus and Jupiter closing together, Mars high for good observing
 
OBSERVING Ed O'Reilly saw the Moon-Mars conjunction in Newmarket, Ont.: Curt saw 2 comets and the rocket fuel dump one night, and good views of Mars; Candace showing Mars to her kids; Beth, Curt and Mike Powell did an observing night for 10-12 students at Samuel de Champlain.
 
SHOW AND TELL Steve had copies of the Bugle-Observer (Woodstock-Hartland area) that had a story on Donald Clendenning and him building an observatory at Donald's.
 
FAMOUS ASTRONOMER TALK June told the history of Vera Rubin, who persevered through gender prejudice and raising kids to earn her PhD in astronomy. She was a key figure in the detection of dark matter and won many awards.
 
BUSINESS Club Scope (Curt), PST (Mike Powell still has it), Sky & Tel subscriptions have been sent. June has david Levy's book on Comets and the Meade catalogue if anyone wants to borrow them. Astronomy Day on May 10 - June will try for Brunswick Square.
