| WHAT'S UP |
Curt Nason. Mercury very difficult to observe. Venus is low in the east
before sunrise. Full (Harvest) moon on Sept. 26, look for "Woman in The Moon".
Harvest Moon: Venus at greatest brilliancy on Sept. 23. Mars rises before
midnight. New moon on October 02. Jupiter is in Scorpius, visible for
only about two more months. Venus at opposition on Sept.09. Watch for
zodiacal light during Sept-October.

Autumnal Equinox on Sept.23. Observing session for St. Malachy's High
School on Oct. 05 at New River Beach. SJAC meeting on October 06. NBCC
Astronomy course begins Oct.16.

| OBSERVING |
Adrien: More EU objects, tried for total lunar eclipse before going to
work, could not see it as local trees and houses blocked view. Mike
Powell: Saw lunar eclipse. Dave Driscoll: Saw lunar eclipse. Ed Kaine:
Saw Venus and Saturn conjunction in scope. Marc Arsenault and Angela
Davis went to Dow Planetarium in Montreal. Dave Driscoll was at Nova
East, mostly clouded out but did see Mars and Pleiades.

Dave Driscoll: Bought magazine" SPACE NEWS". Mike Powell: Showed his
Skywatcher 102 mm Mak Cass scope on a Meade GOTO mount. Dave Driscoll
showed some pics taken with scope (Skywatcher 150 mm dob) that his daughter
Kendra won at Astro Atlantik 2007: Moon with Jupiter over city skyline,
closeups of the Moon, solar prominences with Coronado P.S.T. solar scope.

Beth MacNutt would like group observing sessions for anyone interested
in doing EU observing, Beth, Ed Kaine, Mike Powell, and Adrien interested.

| ALL SKY CAMERA |
Peter showed some of the many false images/video files captured on hard
drive. Need volunteers to help sift through images/video files monthly
(must have Windows XP Pro operating system with remote desktop).
Marc Arsenault said he would help.
