BUSINESS A. McAllister retains the 6" Dob; D. McCashion takes the solar scope; T. Raithby retains the 4.5 " Dob; no one claimed the 90 mm refractor; D. Chase asked for the 11x80 binoculars (could not get hold of TL to return them); P. Owen retains the camera adapters. J. MacDonald has the 3x Barlow.
 
ASTRONOMY TALK C. Nason talked about how rainbows and halos form and their many variations.
 
OBSERVING REPORTS C. Curwin and C. Nason both caught the close conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. M. West saw the line-up of Saturn, Mars and Antares. D. Chase observed prominences and sunspots with the PST. P. Owen was amazed at finally seeing the southern Milky Way near his place, and saw a green meteor at Fundy. K. Boucher reported seeing a bright meteor with a long red tail. T. Raithby reported there were two nights of aurorae. M. Powell mentioned two Iridium flares seen at Fundy.
 
SHOW & TELL, BUY & SELL M. West described a drive problem with his ETX and received tips on where to seek assistance. P. Owen brought his 102 mm, f/6.5 refractor with a Vixen mount for sale ($375). A. West was happy to receive an Antares 10" Dob from generous donors. J. MacDonald and R. Armstrong brought magazines to give away. J. MacDonald showed an old post card of the SJ Meteorological Observatory that had been on Douglas Avenue a century ago, and an astronomy book in Gaelic from Cape Breton.
