| ASTRONOMY TALK |
A. West gave a talk on the "Zooniverse" - Galaxy Zoo, which is a place online where amateur astronomers can access data on galaxies, provided by telescopes around the world. Site link is www.galaxyzoo.org . Amateurs have the opportunity to classify galaxies into different types, thus assisting professional astronomers & researchers in their work. There is a discussion group as well, so there is a chance to talk with other people about galaxies & their classifications.

| OBSERVING REPORTS |
M. West, S. Tompkins & E. O’Reilly all saw some of the Taurid meteor shower. D.McCashion added to his blog that he had seen a fireball during the meteor shower. M. West is trying to track the phases of Venus. J. Davidson had been out a few times & had seen the ring nebula & used a camera to take some Moon shots. C. Nason observed 2 PanSTARRS comets Nov. 8.

| ASTRONOMY TALK |
A. West showed a video of her interview with astronomer Dr. Brooke Simmons, who is part of the Galaxy Zoo team and does research on black holes. She feels it is good to have amateur astronomers involved in Galaxy Zoo because they have a background in astronomy- they know about what they are observing, they know the terminology, they are observant and diligent.
